There is what we've come to after a few hundred years. A pretty resilient bunch, by and large. Humanity takes a neutral position wherever possible and relies on its all-round flexibility to combat the endless threats directed against it.

Strengths and Weaknesses
Restricted to Oxygen atmosphere worlds with temperate climate and standard gravity. Can tolerate a reasonable number of less than ideal planetary conditions. They compete directly with other Human races, The Hive, Myrmodi, Cetaci and Saurischi for real estate.
Facility costs are fairly cheap, and output above average.
Plenty of good Hull Types, especially in later Eras.

DD Shields are poor in early Eras but get better with time and Military Improvements. Humanity has access to both plasma and energy shields.
Propulsion systems are above average, and two useful Military Improvements are available (Eras 6 and 9).
Astro-Navigation is good.
ECM is ordinary for DDs, much better for larger vessels. Military Improvements from Eras 7 and 8 will help.
Offensive Projectiles are varied and effective with a variety of Military Improvements available.
Defensive Projectiles are good and benefit from several Military Improvements.
Beam Weapons are above average. SD weapons are excellent. Some Military Improvements are available.
Military Improvements are extensive; rate of fire, interception, penetration, propulsion, deflection, evasion, ECM and Planet Attack can be improved.
Colony Improvements are extensive, improving a variety of factors.
SP costs for Era jumps are fairly high.
Humanity takes a neutral diplomatic stance which makes them receptive to alliances as well as neutrality. Their average trade rating makes diplomatic relationships rewarding.
Base Rate of Fire is 45. Average.

Default Production Queue
The first couple of times you play Humanity, I recommend you configure the default production queue as follows, especially in the early game.
